I love people

My story, what really led me to coaching.

I love people.

That might sound simple. But it took me a while to understand what it actually means. And even longer to know what to do with it.

I have always liked to listen. Early on, I noticed that people open up to me easily and trust me quickly.

I wanted to be like Momo, the character from Michael Ende's novel. The girl who simply listens, and in doing so, helps.

It didn't start well.

I came to coaching during one of the hardest periods of my life.

For years, I had been trying to get pregnant. It didn't work, no matter how much I wanted it.
At some point I realized I was just going through the motions. I didn't recognize myself anymore. No real laughter. Just a mask.

Then I stumbled into a seminar. Secretly, still hoping it would help me let go and maybe get pregnant after all.

What I got instead was something totally different. I noticed I was good at working with people. That my curiosity helped them see themselves more clearly.

For the first moment in a long time, I felt like I could actually do something. That was the opposite of what had worn me down: the waiting, the powerlessness, the inability to act.

And it turned into a career.

I went through several very different coaching programs. Each one gave me something. Today, being a life coach is who I am.

I work with people, but I am not a savior. And I have no interest in being one. When someone shows up and says "just fix this for me," I'm the wrong person. That creates dependency and helps no one.

For almost five years, I worked for an international coaching institute. Every topic you can imagine came up. Relationships, money, health, career – and again and again, decisions.

What actually matters.

I kept noticing the same thing: most people already know what they want.
They just don't trust themselves and make it harder than it needs to be.

And every time someone realizes that the clarity was there all along, it gets me. It usually starts with a moment of recognition. A particular look in their eyes.

That's the special moment that stays with me.
